Elastic properties of TeO2–ZnO–Ag2O doped with Nd2O3

A series of Neodymium doped zinc-tellurite glasses incorporated with Ag 2 O chemical composition {[(TeO ) 0.70 (ZnO) 0.30 ] (1-X) Nd 3(X) } (0.99) (0.01), x = 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 and 0.05, were synthesized by applying the melt-quenching technique. The FTIR analysis confirmed presence only two (2) active functional group (TeO 3 TeO 4 in wavenumber range 200–4000 cm −1 . spectra XRD glassy amorphous nature studied glasses. With addition more glass composition, both density molar volume increased. elastic moduli (longitudinal modulus, shear Young's modulus Bulk modulus) calculated from measured ultrasonic velocities obtained non-destructive testing performed at 5 MHz frequency. experimental results showed that rely upon system impact within network. increase is associated rigidity change structural network system. effects on Debye temperature, softening micro-hardness Poisson's ratio –ZnO–Ag also this work. acoustic impedance, as well coefficient thermal expansion glasses, calculated. physical properties' parameters suggest are strong enough for utilization fibre laser technology.
